Standing out against Border Hills and Scottish forestry with four glinting stars, Cadrona Hotel is a welcoming jewel in the Macdonald hospitality crown. The Peebles sleepery sports an 18 hole golf course, two bars for cocktails and chinwags, and AA rosette-awarded restaurant, Renwicks, which serves up dishes crafted with locally sourced ingredients. In the spa, an 18 metre pool with a view is flanked by a sauna and steam room, while a menu of beauteous opportunities includes hot stone massage and hot stone therapies.
Settling in to the soothing spa, guests can laze in fluffy robes and slippers, enjoy a casual swim, or get serious in the gym facilities. A 30-minute Decléor aroma facial (£37) will use essential oils to restore facades to their glowing selves, while the half-hour aroma back, neck, and shoulder massage (£47) features exfoliation, a deep tissue kneading, and a hot towel treatment. A break for lunch will see customers slurping on the soup of the day (£6), and munching on a sarnie such as smoked salmon (£7.90) or cheese and pickle (£6.90) before continuing on their way. Each client will receive a £10 voucher towards any other treatment on the day, and those feeling especially lavish can upgrade to a 60-minute facial for an extra £15.

Food both in quality and service was excellent. All the staff were very attentive and you really did feel that you were a valued guest at this hotel. The pool and fitness area is very well equipped with the pool the right shape and length to have a good swim.
