Golf clubs are not to be confused with gold clubs, which can be rather heavy to cart around. Get carried away with the game with today's Groupon from Macdonald Cardrona Hotel Golf and Spa. Choose from the following options:
• £45 for a round of golf and 50 balls for the driving range for two, plus a bacon roll and tea or coffee each (Up to 58% off)
Nested between Peebles and Innerleithen villages, with the Cardrona Forest at its heels, the four star Macdonald Cardrona Hotel Golf and Spa makes the most of its scenic surrounds. Designed by former Ryder Cup player and renowned course architect, Dave Thomas, the 18 hole championship course stretches across parkland and woodland, with the Borders Hills making for a picturesque backdrop. The Spike Bar enjoys majestic views of the green and holds a terrace for alfresco tipples and snacks.
Sporting suitable attire, one or two golfers can step up to take a round (£45) around the course, teeing off between the hours of 7am and 7pm. A basket of 50 balls (£3.50) will also be to hand for practising swings on the driving range, and sportspeople can settle down in the Spike Bar afterwards with a tea or coffee and bacon roll (£4.75)to refuel.
The Macdonald Cardrona course received 3.37/5 from Golf Shake users, as well as some very positive comments from TripAdvisors who were also reviewing the accommodation. While some opinions varied on the drainage of the course, reviewers were generally in agreement that it provided a good challenge, and praised the setting in particular.
The golf course at Cardrona was built to championship standard which is great for very good golfers and even average golfers when the course is dry and the ball runs.

Take in the wonderful views of the mountains and river Tweed, spot the leaping salmons [sic] and different kinds of birds. Playing really bad golf at Cardrona is better than any of your best day [sic] at the office. I would love to come back and play Cardrona again.
