Movie moguls always say the best wrap parties are after the completion of the clingfilm. Keep rolling with today’s Groupon: £8 for two cinema tickets at Dominion Cinema.
Reeling out the movies since its foundation in 1938, Dominion Cinema‘s art deco building is as suffused with history as it is with the scent of fresh popcorn. The family-run establishment puts comfort first, with a recent refurbishment ensuring flicks are seen and heard in high-definition indulgence. Refreshment is provided in the form of a licensed bar, which also serves treats such as Irn-Bru sorbet alongside traditional cinematic fare. The listed building has screens fitted with comfy sofa-style seating, including the executive screen, available for corporate or private hire.
The duo of flick fanatics will be treated to a return to the golden age of movie-going in one of two strikingly ambient auditoriums, with Gold screen one complete with comfy seating, space for drinks and nibbles, and immersive sound, and screen two fitted out with sofa-style seating. The film selection covers the latest releases, and showings are available throughout the day and into the evening.
Reviews
The Dominion Cinema received an award-worthy 4/5 stars on Qype, with audiences giving a standing ovation to the impressive vintage style and cosy atmosphere.
Grab a sofa and a footstool, a decent cup of coffee and perhaps a wee dram and spend the most relaxing evening watching a movie you can imagine.

As soon as I walked through the door I could instantly see the beauty of such an old and homely venue. The entrance was lovely and staff at the reception were welcoming and friendly. All of the pictures taken with actors/actresses and directors lining the walls on the way to the screens really add to the old school cinema experience. It was really a treat to sit on the comfy two-seater couches and put our feet up, and it made a change from the extremely busy and expensive Vue.
