Projecting authentic Italian notes in the city centre, this family-run trattoria has spent over two decades tempting stomachs with its traditional dishes. Specialties of the north and south come to light in the extensive menu, which is enhanced by a wine list that shows off the country's fruitfulness in equal measure. Inside, mahogany sloping beams evoke the intimate ambience of a rustic wine vault while checked tablecloths add to the quintessential Italian aesthetic.
Dining duos can kick start their Mediterranean affair with Italian classics such as Prosciutto ham with fresh melon (£8.95) or the melanzane parmigiana: aubergine baked in the oven with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese (£6.45).
