Spicing up central Edinburgh with a mosaic of South Asian flavours, Namaste Kathmandu is a contemporary eatery that pays homage to its chef’s Nepalese roots in decor and menu content. Authentic brassware and blonde wood fastenings add taste to the interior, with low-lit pictures, trinkets, and souvenirs sitting alongside aromatic dishes. The venue entices taste-buds with a mixture of well-sourced ingredients, which go into making a menu split into Indian, Nepalese, and European sections.
Beginning the Everest-sized meal with a starter, tongues can tingle over the likes of tandoori chicken (£8.95), Nepalese style lamb chops (£6.95), or Mo Mo dumplings with fresh coriander leaves (£5.95). Mains include rogan josh, with Kashmir lamb in fennel based gravy (£11.25), bheda tona, a lamb leg delicacy marinated overnight in a blend of herbs spices and yogurt (£11.25), and murgh tikka masala with barbecued chicken (£10.25). A half pint of Cobra lager will be provided to help wash everything down.

Reviews
Namaste Kathmandu received a tasty 4/5 stars from users on Yelp, while reviews on TripAdvisor were also encouraging. While the food was not to everyone’s taste, diners praised the wide variety of dishes and friendly service.
I am a vegetarian and the menu suited me down to a tee. My fiance had the chicken korma which he also said was amazing. Service was also great with all staff being very attentive. They made sure we had enough drinks at all times etc.

I really love Indian food, and there's nothing like that feeling of culinary satisfaction when you're presented with an awesomely tasty meal, with the perfect mixture of flavours and spice levels you require for your fusspot palate. Namaste offers up all of these delightful factors for your consumption, plus the food looks great when it's presented, with the traditional brass looking bowls and serving spoons.
