Peering over Musselburgh Racecourse, Saison plates up delicacies under the direction of a head chef who previously cooked up a storm in the prestigious kitchens of Dubai. The establishment uses locally sourced produce where possible to plate up traditional cooked breakfasts, light bites, and flavoursome evening feasts.

Magnifico meals could get off to a fine start with bruschetta dressed with plum tomatoes and garlic (£3.45) or fish soup with pesto, fennel, and white wine (£4.95). Main choices include Scottish sirloin steak topped with béarnaise sauce and served with hand-cut chunky chips, flat cap mushrooms, and grilled cherry tomatoes (£17), squid risotto with asparagus tips, plum tomatoes, and black olive ragu (£12.95), or classic spaghetti carbonara with bacon, cream, and grated Parmesan cheese (£6.95).
