Martial artists rarely host tea parties, citing the unpopularity of their knuckle sandwiches. Make room for finger food with today’s Groupon from The Birdcage. Choose from the following options:
• £18 for afternoon tea for two with a glass of rosé Prosecco and a cocktail in a teacup each (54% off)• £36 for afternoon tea for four with a glass of rosé Prosecco and a cocktail in a teacup each (54% off)

Stretching its wings in a restored Victorian cotton mill, The Birdcage is a fine dining haunt perched in its own floodlit courtyard. The historical hues are juxtaposed against cutting edge architecture, as a water feature recalling the edifice's original function surrounds the restaurant’s glass-walled dining room. While the contemporary eatery serves up seasonal dishes using locally sourced produce, the bar is decked out in chic monochrome furnishings, complete with comfy Chesterfield sofas while windows disclose views of the busy kitchen.
Sipping on a glass of chilled rosé Prosecco, dainty fingers can pick at a towering cake stand of afternoon tea goodies. Piled high with mini sandwiches, the stand's naughtier nibbles include artisan cupcakes and homemade scones with lashings of cream and jam. Daintily served in a teacup, a cocktail will also whet appetites, with a selection of four to pick from.

Been here a few times for high tea and have been very impressed with the food, service and pleasant atmosphere. – Rubincain, TripAdvisor, May 2012
I came here for the first time for a lunch in May and was impressed with the place, the food and the attentive and warm service. The restaurant is delightfully decorated, a gentle bircage theme with contempory edge but not too overdone and the outside tables looked a very relaxed place to be on such a sunny day (in a pretty, peaceful courtyard). – LittleRedLaura, TripAdvisor, Jun 2012
