Masters of embellished edibles, Carroll Cupcake Company welcomes budding bakers into the kitchen and shows them how to turn delicious treats into mini works of art. With a quarter of a century catering experience apiece, the two trainers know their way around the pantry and can help students of all abilities conjure up some dainty delights. The team also sells their own creations, catering for birthdays, corporate events, and indulgent tea times.
The two-hour courses run on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and every other Saturday over a morning, afternoon or an evening session. With all ingredients and equipment ready for action, the instructors take groups of up to eight and school them in the art of making buttercreams, piping, and delicate sugarcraft. At the end of the course, six decorated cupcakes will be ready for a ride home to be shown off on a mantelpiece or gorged upon by ravenous cake lovers. Those keen for more experience, or a sneaky second batch, can get a 20% discount on their next visit if booked on the day.
