Groupon gets the lowdown on Drayton Manor Theme Park's thrilling features, and finds out what's so special about the Shockwave.
Are the rides suitable for everyone? Drayton Manor features a variety of rides to suit different ages. The Apocalypse was named Britain’s scariest ride by Channel 5’s Gadget Show, while Shockwave is Europe's first stand-up rollercoaster. At the other end of the spectrum, Thomas Land boasts gentler rides to keep toddlers and young kids entertained.
What can be found in the zoo? The zoo is home to over 100 different species, including fearsome big cats and reptiles, as well as parrots and the ever-popular meerkats. The park also offers visitors the chance to be a zoo keeper for a day and learn about what goes on behind the scenes.
What else does the park offer? In addition to its zoo and rides, Drayton Manor features a 4D cinema with motion-simulator seats, a Dino Trail strewn with life-like models and seasonal events and celebrations throughout the year.
And what sorts of refreshments are available? A wide range of dining options can be enjoyed, ranging from pizzerias, grills, and burger kitchens to hot dog stands and laidback cafes. Children's lunch packs can also be bought from selected outlets.
