Groupon Recommends
A quick zip down the coast will bring visitors to the village of Clovelly, the cobbled inclines of which boast resident donkeys and look out on to views made famous by painters such as Whistler and Turner. Sprawling a small way to the east, the blasted wilds of Exmoor may astonish onlookers with its granite gullies, wandering ponies, and relics such as the prehistoric clapper bridge Tarr Steps. Exeter’s 12th century cathedral will enchant lovers of history and architecture alike with its vaulted ceiling and astronomical clock, while the surrounding cafes and boutiques of the city centre will cater to travelling shopaholics.
Transport
Trains: Low-cost trips available from London Paddington, Cardiff Central, Glasgow Central, Manchester Piccadilly, and Birmingham New Street. Barnstaple Rail Station is roughly 15 miles from the hotel.
Road: The hotel is accessible by following the M4 or M5 to Tiverton Parkway before changing onto the A361 to Barnstaple and following signs to Ilfracombe from there.
Reviews
The Grosvenor Hotel is rated a comfortable 3/5 on TripAdvisor. Reviewers state it was good value for money and while some felt the rooms to be a bit basic and a bit tired, they also highlighted the friendly staff and good food.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had dinner one evening, again good value.

The room I had was clean with an immaculate en suite shower, plenty of hot water, thermostatic radiator and all the decor was clean and tidy.

Groupon Says
The Groupon Guide to Giving Flowers
Giving flowers is a great way to say the things you feel too awkward to put into words, like "I love you", "Thinking of you", or "I didn't know she was your sister". Here's how to do it right:
Product sourcing
If you can't afford a fancy bouquet from a shop, mums are always thrilled with a hand-picked arrangement. At least until they see what you've done to the garden.
Picking the right posie
Beautiful as they may be, a bunch of Dog’s Tongue, Toadflax or Stink Eye doesn't sound pretty. Always go with the Latin name - it makes you look clever, too.
Longevity
All flowers wither eventually, but some go quicker than others. Look for flush leaves, firm stems, and no sign of a pension plan.
Personal stamp
Nothing says "I’m yours" like a thoughtful bunch of blooms, but nothing says "no you’re not" like forcing a sack full of mulch back through their letterbox.
