Nestled into golden-green slopes, Taunton Racecourse is a picturesque National Hunt racecourse, attracting galloping stallions and trackside enthusiasts since the 1920s. A popular spot for family days out and corporate gatherings alike, the racecourse has a sprinkling of winter race days penned in this year, and also plays host to a range of other events. The course takes horses down two long straights with sharp bends, and puts seven fences in their thundering path, stoking up an atmosphere heady with race day excitement and equine-based adrenaline.

Keen attendees can choose from five possible race meets, with available dates in October, November and December. Race-watchers email the racecourse at least five working days before the event, and tickets are then posted to a provided address to sit tight ‘til race day. Hooves or hands clutching grandstand tickets can make their way down to the course, perhaps parking up in one of many parking spaces, and settle down trackside to enjoy the day’s races. Hot food and drinks are available in all the stands, and plated meals are available in the Saddle Room, while tables can also be reserved for an à la carte meal in the Orchard Stand.
