Socialising in traditional English pubs is a far less cumbersome way to celebrate Old World amusements than begging the local Doctor Who to debug his time portal. Engage in present-day pleasures with today's Groupon: for £14 you and another can feast on any two dishes from The Oddfellows lunch menu along with tea or coffee.
Situated on a beautiful Victorian facade, The Oddfellows cooks up freshly prepared locally sourced food (even down to creating pasta from its fiddly and raw durum form) to a diverse clientele. The menu offers a wealth of gastro style food with a modern twist, and they admirably only serve sustainable forms of our gilled friends. The Oddfellows enchants afternoons, evenings, and late nights with classic English pub specialties, over 11 tap beers, and an atmosphere that evokes all the old charm of the land of Angles.
Groupon holders can quell stomach rumblings with an impressive list of foodie entrees. Kick of consumption with the palette appeasing Oddfellows gourmet burger, made from 100% British steak, served in a toasted bun with homemade tomato relish, served with crispy potato wedges, slaw and a mixed leaf salad (£9.95). Diners can slather the said burger with cheese or bacon (extra £1) or both, if they wish. For the gentle herbivore there's the home made vegetable tart with buttered new potatoes and mixed laves (£6.95) and the goats cheese, spinach and red onion confit pizza (£7.50). For those that prefer to indulge in sea formed treats there is the kedgeree compromising of smoked haddock in lightly curried rice and finished with boiled egg, lemon and fresh coriander (£9.50).

I love coming here for a meal after work or as the start of a night out. There is a good selection of carefully plated and excellent seasonal dishes. Be here in the early evening for a relaxed atmosphere or a bit later to join the party-goers! The staff is always friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

The bar is cosy and welcoming, the staff are friendly, there's a cocktail bar upstairs and the selection of food and drink is good. There's a laid-back crowd, a mixture of students and locals, and it's close to the city centre.
