Home to the Glasgow Tigers, Glasgow Speedway sets a roaring tone as the base of the Scottish Cup, League Championship, and Spring Trophy 2011 champions. Blasting round Ashfield Stadium, the club’s oval track sees bikes of 500cc blaring round it at high speeds of up to 70 miles per hour with no brakes to slow things down. A licensed bar and hot and cold food stands keep spectators refuelled.

With 14 race days to choose from, ticket holders can rock up to a Sunday race and take a seat for the wheel spinning exhilaration. Gates open at 2.45pm and the approximately two hours of racing begins at 4pm, with two members of each team speeding round the dirt track. With the Glasgow Tigers preparing to defend their titles in a series of league events, plenty of power-sliding, broadsiding, and nail-biting straights will decide the winners.

Fast and furious would probably best describe it. Loads of action with little or no time between races, lots of noise and fun. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would go to Glasgow again just to see this.
