Farmers’ dinner parties aren’t a great success, probably because they expect hens to lay the table. Enjoy a more comfortable dinner with today’s Groupon: £13.50 for an Indian meal of curry and rice for two at Mister Singh’s.

Proffering Asian fusion dishes while wearing kilts, the staff at Mister Singh’s brandish menus for all occasions and stock a clinking cluster of liquors. Their spicy rice-based dishes arrive between packed tables and mosaic pillars to sit in splendour amid pale yellow walls and ornate mirrors. The East Glasgow eating-hole also hosts private events and serves up meals to take away.

Waiters will lay out a main dish each, accompanied by boiled, or fried rice (up to £2.75), to curry favour with two diners. The mains on offer include keema aloo curry, featuring lean Scottish lamb mince and potato cooked in fresh Punjabi spices (£10.95) and malaidar, with spinach puree, green chillies, garlic, and fresh cream.

Reviews

Mister Singh’s India is met with a tasty 4/5 on both Yelp and TripAdvisor. Diners said they were fond of the eclectic menu and the efficient and friendly service.

I was impressed with the quality of the mains and will hopefully be back soon to enjoy more of different selections to the usual take away. In a city with an ambundant [sic] choices of restaurants I would recommend this one for friends & colleagues. [sic]

The Kilted [sic] waiters are the trademark of this excellent restaurant. Fantastic mains and starters, the breads come from their tandoor. Stunning service is always found here.
