Heated arguments can often be settled over a good plate of curry, but you’ll still have to pick a side. Keep your taste buds sweet with today’s Groupon: £15 for two courses of Pakistani cuisine for two, including sides and drinks at
The New Pakistani Cafe.
Blazing a trail for authentic Pakistani cuisine, the family-run New Pakistani Cafe brings all the aromatic flavours and gastronomic sensations of the Indus River plain to the banks of the Clyde. The first of its kind in all of Glasgow, this establishment offers a wide and authentic menu suitable for carnivorous sorts and vegetarians alike. The spiced-up and sensual dishes are all assembled in a home-cooking style, prepared from scratch and made to order, adhering to personal chilli tolerance and culinary preference, using only halal meat.
Tucking in to a cultural feast, doubled up diners can peruse starters or mushroom (£2.80) or chicken pakora (£4), or go for a chapli kebab (£2) before moving on to the main event. Traditionally cooked spicey lamb lahori comes in portions to suit one (£9) or two (£18) appetites, while veggies can tuck in to a palek paneer curry of spinach and cheese (£6). Each dish can be complemented by a side of vegetable rice (£3) or a garlic and cheese naan (£2.50), and washed down with a fruity and refreshing banana or mango lassi (£3.70).
Reviews
Although not widely reviewed at present, The New Pakistani Café has attracted a few very favourable reviews from satisfied diners. The eatery’s and personable personnel earn high praise in customer write-ups.
Went here on a cold, snowy Tuesday evening a few weeks ago. Despite being empty we had a great meal. The guy running the place was very attentive and the food amazing. He kept apologising for the length of time it took, but it was clear that our meal was being cooked from scratch and it showed. The food was fresh, hot and beautifully presented. We will definitely visit again and also would get a take out, just phone ahead so it is ready when you collect.
