Like a lion, a driver needs to be able to navigate water holes, handle zebra crossings, and eat road hogs for breakfast. Tame the road with today’s Groupon: £47 for a one day CBT motorbike course from BikeRite.
Combining more than 60,000 square feet of training space with a squad of motorcycling savants, these two-wheelers have spent 27 years perfecting techniques to pass on their knowledge. Based in Rutherglen, BikeRite is staffed by certified instructors, able to teach black-leathered bikers and green teens a thing or two about the road. Ladies and gents can also tank up on biking goods such as clothing, helmets, and gift certificates.
Biking beginners can complete an accredited Driving Standards Agency (DSA) Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) course which will legally allow them to drive their motorcycle or moped on the road. Lasting one full day, the course includes helmet hire, and is designed to ensure that new bikers can operate their bike and handle the bumps and bends of the road safely. The course covers controls, signals, road signs, and more, and must be passed satisfactorily to become road legal. If customers haven’t yet got their own wheels, a bike or scooter for the day can be selected from the fleet for £30.
Reviews
BikeRite earned an encouraging 4/5 from Qype users, along with some positive comments from initial Google reviews. Reviewers generally praised instructors for their friendliness and professionalism, and were particularly pleased with the CBT course itself.
I recently passed my CBT with Bike Rite and had a great day. I found the staff to be friendly helpfull [sic] and very patient. I had never ridden a bike before and enjoyed myself so much I am now doing a DAS course with the company.

I struggled with a particular section of the maneuvers [sic] and the instructor stayed on to coach me while the rest of the class broke for lunch - this one-to-one time gave me the confidence I needed to finish the course and I've been happily riding ever since.
