According to ancient Greek philosophy, knowledge is the food of the soul, which is why Plato’s birthday menu included spotted dictionaries and fizzy thinks. Eat and be with today's Groupon from Athena Greek Taverna. Choose from the following options:
• £18 for a two course Greek meal for two with a glass of wine each (Up to 61% off)• £36 for a two course Greek meal for four with a glass of wine each (Up to 61% off)
Plating up authentic and traditional cuisine, Athena Greek Taverna seeks to bring a rambunctious Hellenic attitude to food to the centre of Glasgow. The menu focusses on traditional Mediterranean dishes and the Olympian larder, stretching the length of the Balkan Peninsula with fresh-as-a-daisy salads, dips, and vine leaves. More substantial offerings include lamb and seafood cooked on the glowing grill.
Pairs of eating companions will be able to chaperone assuaged appetites with a glass of wine each (£3.15). Starters include the classic spinach and cheese combination of spanakopita (£4.15) or kalamari squid deep fried in a light crispy batter (£5.15). Main courses go on to feature a range of meaty morsels, such as the tender slow-cooked kleftiko lamb on the bone (£14.30) and the architectural alignment of the layered moussaka (£12.85).
