Familiar with the excellent Bier Halles of Prague and Munich, the owners realised that Glasgow did not need another so-called trendy style bar selling the same limited choice of beers and spirits with the same old decor and bar food. And so The Bier Hof was born. The dark, sexy interior design utilises the beauty in natural materials such as leather, exposed brick and Douglas fir wood to create a cave-like, earthy den, providing respite from the hurly burly of the streets above. Live music or DJs most nights and a quiz every Tuesday.

The star of The Bier Hof’s show is clearly the consumables. First of all biers, biers and more biers…the list is ridiculously extensive. Where their bier tasters lead - other bars follow - the drinks list changes regularly but always features options from Belgium; Kriek, Leffe, Chimay. Germany; Erdinger, Paulaner as well as Cuban, Czech, Japanese and many more. Next up is the food, from hearty soups, goulash, Italian ciabatta sandwiches, salads and more; plus fantastic bar snacks including mixed marinated olives, tomato bruschetta, hummus and the World famous Bart's crisps. Great stone-baked pizzas, gourmet sausages and tasty desserts are also available.
