Groupon finds out about Snow Factor and what people can expect from a whiz down the slopes.
What are the slopes like? Snow Factor boasts a main slope measuring 200m by 50m, along with a nursery slope next door. Over 1500 tonnes of real snow are made every year, keeping surfaces smooth and ready for action. In addition, a snow patrol is always on duty to give advice and help people find their way.
What should people bring? The passes include hire of equipment for skiing or snowboarding, but it is is essential for visitors to bring their own gloves. We recommend to bring their own waterproof full-length trousers and jackets but these can be hired on site at a discounted rate. Under 16s must wear helmets at all times, which are available for free hire from the rental department.
Who can have a go? People should already have some experience on slopes, being able to competently make turns and control their speed. They should also be able to fit their boots properly and use a poma (ski lift).
What else goes on at Snow Factor? The place has recently had a £1million revamp and now enjoys a newly fitted restaurant, freestyle park, improved slope lighting and a new snow blower. There are also plans to build an ice climbing wall.
