A 19th century façade impressing its print on the heart of Stirling, this four star hotel lodges gourmet British cuisine in among a roster of hospitable services. The Scholars Restaurant seats diners in plush comfort in the midst of this former school where the Highlands and Forth Valley are just beyond the exterior. A palate-pleasing array of refined British flavours make their way to mouth-watering dishes such as ballotine of confit chicken, with both guests and visitors invited to savour the tastes.

The restaurant menu begins with a collection of diversely flavoured dishes that feature the likes of pan fried pigeon breast with Stornoway black pudding and puy lentils (£6.95), and smoked haddock kedgeree with quails eggs and curried mayonnaise (£6.95). Continuing on to main courses, diners can work their mouths around roast lamb rump with potato croquette, roast fennel, and broad beans (£16.95), or contemplate the unusual flavours of ballotine of confit chicken served on basil risotto, in a Bloody Mary dressing (£15.95).

Reviews

Stirling Highland is rated a glowing 4/5 stars by TripAdvisors. While some diners encountered a wait for service, reviewers are keen to celebrate the presentation and taste of cuisine, the inviting atmosphere and tasteful décor, and attentive personnel.

Exellent [sic] hotel we stayed there for or anniversary. The staff are friendly and welcoming we were offered an upgrade for a small charge which was well worth it. The food was excellent and there was a good wine selection. There is ample parking spaces and the hotel is well situated for visiting the castle and the local shops.
