The mystery of Scotland's lakes have baffled many explorers and treasure seekers, each unsure of how to pick a loch. Enjoy an awe-inspiring getaway with today's Groupon: £88 for an overnight stay for two with a glass of Prosecco each and luxury breakfast at the four star Taychreggan Hotel.

Set on the shores of the shimmering Loch Awe, this beautiful Scottish country house hotel sets the scene for a rustic getaway with antique furnishings and activities across their 40 acre grounds. A rustic snooker room, complete with original rests, cues and scoreboards is one of Taychreggan's unusual features, and its two lounges boast antique pianos and panoramic views over the Loch, the Hebrides and beyond. Peaceful, verdant countryside views tempt guests to explore, or simply to put feet up and admire them in style. Originally a humble cattle drover's inn, the time-tested building also boasts amenity-packed, en suite rooms, and fine dining in the two AA rosette awarded hotel restaurant.

Guests can settle into a well-appointed junior suite, with the bespoke furniture and hospitality trays offering comfort-filled stay. The spoils of a glass of Prosecco each will be presented to patrons at the hotel bar, while each morning, a full Scottish breakfast will sate hearty appetites with delicacies such as smoked salmon, haddock, kippers and poached and scrambled eggs, before guests embark on their loch-side adventures.

Reviews
Taychreggan Hotel has been showered with fine reviews, and TripAdvisors rate their stay a stunning 4.5/5 stars. While some guests had to wait for water to heat up in their rooms, write-ups are on the whole very positive. The friendly and professional staff and the views across Loch Awe and hills earn special mention.
Stayed here two years ago and it's still as good now as then. We went for a suite this time and had stunning views over Loch Awe. The room was great, with everything you would hope for at this level. The evening meal was first class and made even better by having those views again. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. You can understand why this hotel gets voted the most romantic! We'll be back.

We had a very good stay at the Taychreggan. Warmly welcomed on arrival and the staff were very attentive. Food was excellent. We had a wonderful dinner on the first night. The hotel also arranged a mornings fishing for me with a very pleasant ghillie. We will definitely be back!
