The ceiling’s the limit at The Climbing Academy Glasgow, where budding heel-hookers can engage in some simian antics over 1100 sq. metres of bouldering walls. A haven of dynos, slabs, and overhangs, the academy features hundreds of routes to test climbers of all abilities. Under the watchful eyes of trained instructors, visitors are encouraged to grapple with colourful challenges, with a particular attention on getting beginners and over 16s involved in the dynamic sport. Climbers are welcome to stop off at the on-site cafe for a snack or energy boosting coffee.
Climbers will try their pair of hired shoes for size during the 75-minute induction, helmed by one of the Academy’s instructors. After learning the basics of the unharnessed climbing sport, nimble fingers and well-placed feet can scale the wall as fully trained members of the Academy. Customers can return to the climbing centre for an unsupervised session to try out their new skills on a variety of stimulating routes.
