Opening onto rolling hills and ancient ruins, this hotel promises a luxurious retreat on a majestic Sligo estate. Its views of silvery brooks and verdant trees recommend it to betrothed couples and visiting dignitaries, while its spa and golf course provide visitors with relaxing entertainment. The hotel invites guests to flit from the 18-hole course to the traditional restaurant or Middleton bar, and book to Elemis facials and massages. Rooms are decorated in soothing hues of gold and brown, with contemporary fittings and impressive views.

Groupon Recommends

Roam up Knocknarea to visit Queen Medb’s tomb, and cast your eye over five counties when you’ve made the ascent. Coney Island offers quiet beaches and hazy blue mountains in the distance. Hopping into a car, visitors can cruise along the Gleniff Horseshoe, amid looming mountain, farmland and ocean views, and spy out Kesh Corran, the mythical home of star-crossed lovers Diarmuid and Grainne. <br/

Road: The most direct route from Belfast is via the M1 and A4 as far as Enniskillen; from the border, take the N16 which will bring you to Sligo town, take the N4 to Collooney, then the R290 to Ballygawley.

Reviews

Castle Dargan received a comfortable 3.5/5 from TripAdvisors. While opinions varied on the food at times, most visitors complimented the cuisine and also praised the hotel’s staff, location, and facilities.

9th March arrived - relaxing spa treatment, then to the bar, staff great craic [sic] and very helpful, nothing too much trouble, fantastic ambiance - could not fault the room.

We have stayed in many 1st class hotels and Castle Dargan is as good as any of them. A superb golf course and my partner came out of the spa beaming. I can't praise the hotel and staff enough.
