Although standing in the midst of Venice, a place purported to have more masterpieces per square kilometre than any other city, the gilded decor of the Hotel Castello makes it a work of art in itself. Perched on a network of woven waterways, Venice is embroidered with rich tapestry of Renaissance culture and contemporary charm, from museums and galleries, to the myriad of boutiques and craft-assembled market stalls. Tastes also extend into gastronomic collections, and cobble-sprawled cafés are rich with aromas of pastry and freshly ground coffee alike.

The Hotel

A short stroll from St Mark’s Square, where the famous Bell Tower and Basilica speckled with intricate mosaics stand, the Hotel Castello mirrors similar images of Venetian-style design. While rooftop views of the city span from its breakfast terrace, inside the hotel is enriched with features such as Persian carpets, damask fabrics and Murano glass appliqués. The 26 rooms are elegant in period style, and the lobby boasts a 24-hour reception desk as well as beautiful staircase dating back to 1700s.

Groupon Recommends

After enjoying the spectacular dome of the basilica in St Mark’s Square shuffle through the boutiques to find little craft pieces and typical Venetian masks for souvenirs. Get a cultural kick in the Ca'Pesaro, Venice’s gallery of modern art housed in a baroque marble palace facing the Grand Canal, or head to the other side of the island and traverse the collections at the Peggy Guggenheim, which hosts a further array of contemporary masterpieces. No trip to Venice would be complete without a gondola ride, so make sure to make the most of this unique experience and appreciate the city’s architecture from the labyrinth of waterways.

Reviews

While yet to be widely reviewed, Hotel Castello has earnt a handful of TripAdvisorwrite-ups. Though some found room size modest, reviewers praise the location, standard of rooms and service.

Small rooms, wonderful amenities, Venetian furniture, fabric wallpaper, crystal chandeliers, with all facilities including air conditioning, bar, TV, safe, telephone, bathroom with large shower, hairdryer, bidet, toilet, etc.., Vaporetto station Zaccaria very close to St. Mark's Square is one 5 minutes. Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean, quiet hotel. Our next stay in Venice we spend safely back at the Hotel Castello.
