Straying further north, stop by at the coastal village of Arnside to admire its Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, tuck into some fish and chips, and visit the 15th century ruins of the atmospheric Arnside Tower. Have a swing at outdoorsy pursuits at one of the golf courses to be found in nearby Morecambe or Kirkby Lonsdale, or make a splash on Pine Lake, where wakeboarding and water-skiing can both be partaken in.

Transport
Train: Low-cost journeys are available from London Euston, Glasgow Central, Cardiff Central, Bristol Temple Meads, and Birmingham New Street. Carnforth Rail Station is roughly two miles from the resort.
Road: Follow the M6 northward before taking Junction 35 onto the A601 and following signs for the resort off of the roundabout.

Our lodge was really nice and very clean. It was big enough for the four of us and had everything we needed including washing machine, tv and dvd player. Although the weather was cold, the lodge was lovely and warm. We made use of the swimming pool one day and were impressed overall with the pool and other facilities. The restaurant served up good food at reasonable prices particularly the pasta and pizza night (Tuesday) - 'eat as much as you want ...
