Perched regally atop scenic Richmond Hill, this traditional hotel matches its 18th century grandeur with a dainty sprinkling of four star facilities. The Richmond Gate Hotel feeds appetites for elegance at its restaurant, where wholesome English cuisine is plated up with refreshingly modern flare. An accompanying lounge bar whets whistles with an array of fine wines, smooth beers, and other top drawer tipples, and warms evenings up with two roaring fireplaces. Opportunities for cooling off abound in the indoor pool, while a fully equipped fitness centre presents an energetic alternative to The Balcony spa centre, which offers an indulgent array of holistic and beauty services.
Go wild with a stroll into the leafy expanses of Richmond Park, which lives up to its National Nature Reserve status with over 2,000 acres of sweeping grassland, as well as roaming herds of both red and fallow deer. Find similarly majestic sights at nearby Hampton Court Palace, where the former chambers of Henry VIII may be explored alongside a 17th century chapel, grandly manicured gardens, and a puzzling hedge maze. Returning to Richmond itself, keep an eye out for Virginia Woolf’s house while ambling into the centre for a spot of tea by the riverside, or a little local ale at one of the cosy pubs which encircle the green.

Richmond Gate Hotel receives a nicely-maintained 3.5/5 rating on TripAdvisor. Reviewers say they adore the location and the quirky character, however a few aspects could be updated.
It is still as good, and a fantastic alternative to central London hotel. The facilities are great, cosy and classy traditional bar, smart restaurant and breakfast room and the rooms themselves are well decorated, larger than average and have character.

The hotel is located in a very quiet and nice area, just in front of the Richmond park, so it is a perfect spot to do sports. It has a nice fitness area and pool.
