The Hotel
Overlooking the pea-green terrains of Anglesey, Tafarn Y Rhos is a welcoming roadside inn and pub rooted in the village of Rhostrehwfa. The guesthouse is comfortably filled with ten en suite bedrooms complete with modern amenities, while the downstairs dining quarters warm the cockles with home-made pub grub, a beer garden, and barrels spread with real ales. Social calendars are also kept busy with regular karaoke, DJs, and quiz nights.
Groupon Recommends
Make the 13 mile drive to the medieval fortress of Beaumaris Castle, before taking the short walk to the haunting and eerie confines of the 19th century Beaumaris Gaol, a disused jail with a courtroom dating back to 1614. Alternatively, head to Holyhead on the west coast of the isle and take in the cliff-top views of the waves of the Irish Sea crashing into the lone silhouette of the South Stack Lighthouse, before venturing further up the mountain to see the prehistoric hill-fort hidden amongst the heights. Meanwhile, those wishing to take a deep breath of fresh, country air can drive down to the unspoilt sandy beaches and craggy mountains of the Snowdonia National Park.
