The Hotel
A slick façade located a short stroll from Barcelona beach, this four star hotel keeps guests in a lively area where bars and restaurants are in energetic supply. One of Barcelona's most enduring and imposing features is that of Gaudi's unfinished Sagrada Familia church; jump on the metro at Selva de Mar for an around ten minute journey to head to this incomparable Gothic structure. After travelling to the top and taking in the bizarre and intricate carvings covering the structure, you can take a walk to another of Gaudi's unique monoliths, the Casa Batlló. This fairy-tale house waves marine-like against the city in whimsical ocean colours and conceals avant-garde interiors topped by a scaled roof offering great skyline views. Further afield, but worth a daytrip, is the Dalí Theatre-Museum, the world's largest surrealistic object. More than just a gallery, the museum is an entire surreal experience which melds Dali paintings with interactive exhibits and rooms set up entirely as pieces of art. The house is also the final resting place of Salvador Dali, who lies in a crypt in the basement.

Staff were very helpful and on hand whenever we walked passed reception. The bed was comfy room and room servicing was very good. Everything worked fine for us when we got used to using the espresso machine! The location was ideal for us...3 blocks from the metro station and 3 blocks from the beach a few blocks from the main shopping mall and a choice of eateries. We didn't want to walk out of our hotel onto the hustle and bustle of the city - so this was ideal for us ...
