Offering a nostalgic glance at days of yore from its East Sussex base, Yesterday's World boasts displays and memorabilia which cover a vast period, from the late 18th century until the 1970s. They span centuries of history to provide the family with a taste of Victorian childhood, life in a 1930s' grocers, and a glimpse in to a wartime kitchen. A series of regal knickknacks can also be found in the Royal Room, including a letter from Queen Elizabeth II about her first meeting with Prince Philip.
Visitors to the historic market town of Battle will be treated to accurate displays of over 200 years’ worth of British history, brought to life by the many interactive displays. Aside from the main exhibits, the museum possesses a large garden, complete with play village to keep fledgling history buffs active, as well Mrs Bumble’s sweet shop, and a gift shop stocked with quirky present ideas.
Reviews
Yesterdays World is rated a commendable 3.5/5 stars by TripAdvisors, who praise the engaging exhibits and attractions, as well as the outdoor play area and café.
Well laid out in 'shop window' style, especially nice for more mature adults as it will bring back some nice memories. They had quizzes and a lovely play area for children, but think adults will like the attraction more than children. Apart from the gardens and play area it was all indoor, so excellent if our weather lets you down. Reasonably priced cafe for a little refuel.
