The Hotel
Housed in the 19th century mansion of wealthy landowner Captain Zannos and his family, the five star Zannos Melathron sits in the heart of the picturesque village, Pyragos Kallistis. The grand establishment’s lounge is laid out with 18th century paintings, antique furnishings, and tables topped with delicate lace tablecloths, while the rest of mansion gives way to leisure with a second-floor pool and cellar for wine tastings. Traditional influences can also be found in the restaurant, which uses ingredients from the volcanic land to serve up classic Santorinian cuisine, while its individually decorated suites combine old-fashioned Greek hospitality with contemporary home comforts. Sanctuary from the Mediterranean sunshine can be sought in the swimming pool, Jacuzzi, or Atmospheric Spa, or via a walk under the shade of the hotel gardens’ lemon trees.
