The Hotel
This country house hotel offers luxurious accommodation in the placid green swathes of the New Forest. Inside, the crisply-designed restaurant has been awarded an AA rosette for its culinary prowess, and a stylish lounge bar serves afternoon tea and cocktails, while by the tinkling notes of the grand piano ring during the weekends. Guests stay in a double room, each of which is individually decorated, complete with a spacious en suite bathroom and a digital TV. Full use of the extensive leisure facilities is included, including squash and tennis courts, a heated swimming pool, a spa bath and sauna, and an air-conditioned gym.

After breakfasting at the hotel, choose one of the circular or linear walking routes, or take a guided walk to gain a fuller understanding of the complex history, geology, wildlife and folklore of the area. Head out on a bicycle or commandeer a horse for a faster way to get around, absorbing the variety of wildlife and scenery. Also enjoy the network of picturesque villages in the area; the hotel is set just outside Brockenhurst with its traditional charm and wandering ponies and cows. Just over three miles north of the hotel you can find Lyndhurst, where quaint tea rooms and country pubs are often bustling with rosy-cheeked walkers taking a mid-hike rest. A 15 minute drive from Balmer Lawn takes you to Beaulieu, site of the famous National Motor Museum and Beaulieu Abbey.
Local Amenities
A short meander down Lyndhurst Road brings you to Brockenhurst’s main streets, which provide a handful of traditional pubs and tea rooms. The village also has a Post Office, and other local amenities such as a bakery, a grocer, and several small convenience stores. Mainly British fare is served in the pubs, but there are also restaurants serving international cuisine such as Thai and Italian. Travelling in the other direction from the hotel takes you to Lyndhurst, where you can find a wealth of independent shops selling antiques, crafts, gifts and jewellery.
Transport
Trains: Brockenhurst National Rail station is a mile from the hotel, and trains go direct to London, Manchester, Bournemouth and other major cities.
By Road: The hotel is located just off the A337, offering easy access to the M27.

This is a great hotel in an absolutely beautiful location in New Forest. All of the staff where extremely helpful and friendly. The room was a good size, and the bed was super comfortable so we enjoyed a wonderful nights sleep, and the bathroom was very well appointed.
