The leafy home of Tudor palaces and England's largest vineyard, Surrey shrugs off the constraints of Greater London and unfurls over the North Downs. Blonde grasses ripple across the Surrey Hills, the spongy earth of their tree-lined avenues turned red, yellow and gold beneath a sheet of autumn leaves.
Charming Saxon market towns are left empty during the week as the county's commuters are inhaled back into London, and a calm atmosphere spreads from sculpted parklands to cafes, pubs, and intriguing boutique shops. The country lanes are perfect for exploration by bike, the undulating countryside is the rambler's ideal terrain, and a clutch of gorgeous Georgian mansions rests in the proud assurance of their heritage.

Excellent hotel for a quiet getaway. Staff are all friendly and welcoming and the room quality is excellent. Food was adequate but nothing stunning. Hotel is in an excellent location for a stroll around Frensham Pond and plenty of facilities on site if you would just prefer a day of relaxing.

A lovely quiet hotel, around 5 miles from Farnham, Surrey. Set beside a large pond (lake) with birds galore, walking tracks or just sit out and watch the world go by, beautiful and peaceful.
