A short drive from the hotel grounds will bring you to the 11th century citadel of Lincoln Castle. This imposing example of medieval architecture was built by William the Conqueror and remains a majestic testament to bygone days. Visit Lincoln Cathedral to see another string on the region's architectural bow, and explore the Gothic features and well-preserved, intricate details strewn inside and out. Or, if you are after a more grounded experience, take the short journey to Lincoln Arboretum. This 22 acre parkland was designed by famed Victorian gardener, Edward Milner, and has been afforded Grade II historic importance by English Heritage.
