The Hotel

From the thick mattresses on the beds to the thick steaks in the restaurant, the Cheshunt Marriott hotel serves up a tasty wedge of modern hospitality. Styled as a contemporary country lodge, the hotel has a pool, hot tub, and fitness suite to keep guests in training for impromptu adventures at the Paradise Wildlife Park, a short three mile drive away.

The Stay

Guests stay in an en suite room complete with plump pillows and thick duvets. In case there is nothing that takes your fancy on the cable TV, an iron and hair dryer are also provided. Having dressed for dinner, guests can enjoy a two course meal before retiring to bed for a good rest in anticipation of big cat excitement.

The Park Experience

Guests should arrange a transfer to the wildlife park for 8.30am the following morning to get up close to the big cats. A welcome pack will be sent out prior to arrival, so visitors can read up on the experience before they finally meet the main players. A Big Cat Team member will lead visitors through the park before it opens to the public, extolling the virtues of each animal over the hour-long tour. Having photographed the pumas, the ocelots and the white lions, the pumas, the tigers, snow leopards, and cheetahs, visitors can retreat to the Safari Suite for a well-earned full English breakfast. Each group will receive a presentation DVD and a goodie bag that includes the following:

Transport

Trains: The hotel is roughly 4km from Broxbourne and Cheshunt stations, both with 20 minute connections to London Liverpool Street.

We have been twice to Paradise Wildlife Park, it is a great day out. A good variety of animals, from big cats to farmyard animals. Rocky the tiger is a favourite, he is gorgeous. Another highlight is the fruit bats, who you can go in with.

The rooms are all you would expect from a Marriott and very peaceful and comfortable. They have a small gym and swimming pool which is very rarely busy so enjoyed having that to myself!
