The Hotel
A Georgian mansion overlooking an ancient marketplace, The Duke's Head Hotel is richly decorated in calming tones and contemporary style. The rooms come with walk-in showers, free Wi-Fi, and widescreen TVs, and there are two restaurants, each with its own vibe and menu selection. Gryffen's bistro serves breakfast and meets the needs of casual dining, while Turners restaurant offers more classical cuisine, from bountiful evening meals to the full spread of Sunday lunch.
The Stay
Guests can check in and replenish their energy with an indulgent afternoon tea, spreading jam and cream over butter-softened scones and letting the rest of the day slip by. A three course meal will be served in Turners Restaurant, with dishes such as pan fried scallops (£9.95), sirloin steak (£20.95) and a selection of Norfolk cheeses (£7.95) available, served with a bottle of house wine to share. Rising to the bustle of central King's Lynn, guests can descend to enjoy a lavish breakfast before striding out into the day.
Groupon Recommends
Head to the medieval St Margaret's Church in town for a look at some of its oddities, including the exterior flood-level marks and the moon dial, as well as the elaborate Flemish brasses depicting a peacock feast and dragons. Head up to the coast for a blustery walk along one of the beaches, or pull on the walking boots and set off on one of the more adventurous coastal paths. For an insight into the area's milling history, seek out Bircham Windmill, which remains unchanged since its heyday 100 years ago.
Transport
Trains: Regular services run from King's Lynn to London King's Cross, or to Peterborough for connections to the East Coast mainline and much of the UK. The hotel is within walking distance of the station.
Road: The A47 and the A10 run to Peterborough and Cambridge respectively, with connections to the M11 for London and the South, or the M1 for the North.

Reviews
The Duke’s Head received a stately 8.2/10 from Booking.com users, while TripAdvisors were also positive and awarded the hotel 4/5. Reviewers were quick to praise the friendly staff, but special mentions went to the decor and the location in the centre of King’s Lynn.
The atmosphere throughout the hotel is comfortably elegant and very inviting. We also stayed the night in a double room. The room was warm and cozy with a huge shower. We will be going back for another weekend during the summer months if not sooner.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The range of facilities were very good. The food was excellent and cooked as requested. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone and the room was very comfortable.
