The Hotel
The Grand Central Hotel hides a traditional bar at its heart, with an inglenook fireplace, stain-glass skylight and exposed stone walls adding to the atmosphere of a coastal hideaway. The Drowes Restaurant cooks up Irish cuisine with local ingredients used where possible, and much of the hotel is equipped with Wi-Fi Internet. Well-versed in the delights of the local area, the hotel also offers a broad selection of adventurous ways to experience the deep roll of the sea, the mountains, and the cosy hidyholes.
The Stay
You can choose to catch some waves on a surfboard or in a kayak, or strap into a blokart and whip out across the sand with the wind in your sail. Whatver the choice, the activity will be organised by the hotel when the reservation is made. Returning fresh-faced from the strand, you may wish to feel the cool embrace of soft sheets and deep duvets to sleep off the excitements of the day, before rising in the morning for a hearty full Irish breakfast each.
Groupon Recommends
Head north for a peek at Donegal Castle in Donegal Town, sprawling in grey stone and its rooms furnished with French tapestries and Persian rugs. Closer to home, the ceaseless roll of the ocean can provide hours of entertainment in Bundoran, whether casually paddling out or perfecting the latest surfing tricks. Head out for a walk along the coast, go horse-riding or fishing, or take the challenge of neighbouring Benbulben Mountain for spectacular views of Yeats country.

Flights: Low-cost airlines operate frequent flights to Belfast City from London and other major UK mainland cities including Birmingham and Manchester. Derry airport is closer to the hotel and can be reached directly from London Stansted.

Car hire: Various car hire providers operate from Derry and Belfast City airports, and driving directions to the hotel can be found on the hotel website.

Southwest Donegal is known as one of Ireland's hotspots for surfing. Depending on your experience, try out nearby Rossnowlagh - where Irish surfing is said to have been born.
Reviews
Grand Central has received favourable customer reviews, and Bookers rate their stay a highly respectable 7.3/10. Earning special mention in visitor write-ups are the hotel’s central location and the personable and attentive staff.
The room we got was at the back of the hotel and had an adjoining room with 2 single beds. The main room was very spacious and had a double bed at one end and a table and chairs and a settee, we also had a sea view. The food served in the bar was very good and well-priced to compete with all the other eating places in Bundoran, would go back again only downside is they don’t have a swimming pool but you can use the other hotels in the area for a small fee.

Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Our bedrooms were all fresh and clean and newly refurbished. The tea tray was well stocked. The breakfast was good, plenty of everything. We would definately [sic] stay there again
