The Hotel
Awarded Best Small Venue in Yorkshire by the 2008 Business Insider Tourism Awards, the old railway hotel still chugs away in the heart of Bradford with its magnificent facade of period elegance. The classic exterior is juxtaposed with the contemporary interior, designed by interior whizzes Browning and Baize, mixing clean lined fixtures with rich colours and fabrics. The Corniche Restaurant and Grill serves up fine dining British dishes, while various tipples can be sipped in the R Bar.

A stroll around the town will take you past architectural sights including the Italianate City Hall and the charming grounds of Cartwright Hall. Budding anchor-men can have a go at sitting in front of the camera and operating studio machinery at the National Media Museum, with its interactive galleries and green screen. Further afield, an approximate 30 minute drive into the West Yorkshire countryside can take visitors to the Brontë Parsonage Museum for an insight into the Brontë sisters’ lives and their famous literature.

With the hotel specifically built as a railway resting spot in mind, Bradford Interchange Station is less than 50m away, with connections to Leeds and Halifax.
Roads:
The M606 connects to the M62 for drivers coming in from the South and the A650 and A658 provide routes in from the North, the latter linking to the A1(M).
Top Tip
The site of the National Media Museum is also the original launch place of Britain’s largest cinema screen in the 80s. The IMAX, which spans up to five storeys high, still stands today.

The Great Victoria Hotel was awarded a King sized 4/5 from TripAdvisor users, while 91% of LateRooms.com reviewers would said they stay again. While visitors commented on the location and the quality of the service they received, special mention was reserved for the character of the hotel’s décor.
Stayed here with friends to have a night out in Bradford, it was perfect, the rooms were fab, funky, modern and excellent value for money. The train station is on the doorstep, about a 20min ride to Leeds, the staff were so friendly and professional.
