Bordering the Cotswolds’ tumbling landscapes, this modern hotel places its four star facilities at a convenient meeting point between town and country. The Hallmark Hotel Gloucester caters to intrepid explorers with robustly stylish cuisine at its brasserie restaurant, while fireside refreshments and afternoon tea are on offer in the adjoining lounge bar. Sporting facilities and a full gym suite provide ample opportunity for leg-stretching, and are happily offset by indulgent spa options such as a sauna, Jacuzzi, and menu of soothing treatments.
A trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park will bring explorers face to face with anteaters, penguins, and other unusual critters as they navigate the educational expanses of this 160 acre country estate. Back into Gloucester itself, the historic docks should be the first port of call, and run alongside the city canal, housing 15 renovated warehouses and a slew of museums, cafes, and restaurants. While taking in the various wonders surrounding the water, step into the Waterways Museum or lap up the city's medieval cathedral, a short gander away.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for a weekend break and were very impressed. The staff were all very polite and helpful. The room was of a good size, modern and well appointed. We were just a few minutes drive from the city centre which was very handy for sightseeing, and its proximity to the motorway made visiting other areas further afield very easy too. Nice hotel, would recommend.
