A delectable drift of inspiration, Paris' moveable feast has captured the senses of writers and artists for centuries. The city of light is at times one of glittering contradictions, with the grand vista from the majestic Louvre to La Défense sitting alongside the webbed alleyways of Montmartre, and village-like enclaves leading to the luxurious boulevard of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. The blustery crunch of an autumnal wander can lead the flâneur through a kaleidoscope of lives, histories and little unnoticed intricacies, from the clusters of street-side coffee sippers to the glassy sheen of the Louvre's pyramid. The Eiffel tower erupts as a pillar of industrial chic, while the uncompromising majesty of the city's monuments stand bathed in magnificence. The metropolis is both a centre of cutting-edge style and serene tradition, from the luxury fashion houses to the sleepy drift of the Seine.

The Hotel
Sitting at Paris' western heel, the Quality Hotel Acanthe escapes the whirling rush of the city's centre. Refurbished in 2010, the hotel combines subtle contemporary interiors with age-old Parisian style. The rooms are all finished in subtle tones with occasional kingfisher flashes of colour. All are air conditioned and double glazed, and guests can enjoy free wi-fi, an LCD satellite TV , tea and coffee making facilities, direct telephone, and minibar all from the luxury of a king-size bed. Clicking across the parquet flooring in the morning, guests can choose to take breakfast in their room, or head down to the full buffet for glasses of cool orange juice and the crisp tear of a croissant.

Groupon Recommends
Having covered the essential sights and museums, the Louvre, the Pompidou Centre, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and maybe a quick stroll along the banks of the Seine, Parisian visitors might want to duck out of the touristy hotspots and head to a few of Paris' more hidden offerings. The Gerard Mulot patisserie in Saint-Germain sends the scents of melted butter unfurling into the street, and with a window piled high with macarons and other sweet delights, visitors can grab a picnic before they head to the Jardin de Luxembourg for an afternoon of open-air indulgence.

Local Amenities
The Boulogne-Billancourt area in which the hotel sits is one of Paris' sleepy bourgeois suburbs, and well worth a day's exploration. The Albert Khan Musée et Jardin is one of Paris' best kept gardens, making for a beautiful blossomed afternoon stroll after a visit to the photography museum. There are numerous restaurants, shops and bars along the Rue de La Reine, conveniently close to the hotel. The Hôpital Ambroise Paré lies to the north of the hotel, and the police station is over the bridge to the west, on Rue Dailly. For a simple route straight to the heart of the capital, the Boulogne Pont de Saint is situated just across from the hotel, and there are also bus links nearby.
