The Hotel
As city-central as you can get, the Hotel Quatro Puerta del Sol combines a beautiful old building as its base and super-chic design. Dreamt up by an acclaimed interior designer, the four star retreat’s black and white colour schemes are warmed by flashes of deep scarlet, plenty of lamps, and the textures of leather and wood. Rocking a hip, cosmopolitan vibe, the hotel offers has a breakfasting longue, complimentary Wi-Fi and even an open space for artists to display their work.
The Stay
Large windows allow plenty of natural light into the spacious double rooms, and also offer views of the busy city streets. Sound-proofed for uninterrupted hours of slumber, the rooms also enjoy personally-controlled climate control and a high speed internet connection. Guests can prise themselves from their room for a buffet breakfast in the hotel’s lounge each morning, with a spread of hot and cold items served until a sociable 11am. We loved this hotel which was cool and hip and contemporary. The very quiet room looked out a large balconied window to historic buildings, it was right next to all the places we wanted to walk to like Plaza del Mayor, the cobbled back streets full of shops, Cardomoma to watch the flamenco, fantastic restaurants, buses and trains and the open topped sightseeing tourist bus.
