Staying in an en suite room with full English breakfast each and a beauty treatment for one

The Hotel
From its ornate entrance under meshed arches, to its elegant sash windows and ivory metal balconies, this establishment oozes vintage Victorian charm. Evening drinks are sipped in the Ocean View bar, which has seating and stage facilities in abundance to host wedding receptions and parties. Imposing staircases and glistening chandeliers trickle throughout the hotel, while the indoor pool area exudes Scandinavian chic with its decked pine ceilings and cool natural light.
The Stay
Guests can make themselves at home in an en suite room that epitomise the hotel's regal style. Light golds and creamy yellow tones beam through the bed linen and side-lit walls, warmly offset by oak wardrobes and traditional wooden furniture pieces. An award-winning, full English breakfast per person is served each morning. During the day, one guest may wish to relax with a choice of beauty treatments (worth up to £35) such as an express facial (£20) or hot stone back massage (£35), while the other dons a robe and slippers and revitalises in the hotel's indoor pool, sauna or gym.
Groupon Recommends
Active travellers can take the plunge into Newquay's signature water sports, such as scuba diving courses, beginner surfing weekends and body boarding. Those looking for a more laidback break can grab a round of golf, enjoy the sea air with a strong along the beach or peruse the shops in central Newquay. St. Ives is an hour south, and as the hub of Cornwall's art scene, there are a clutch of art galleries to wander round, including the Tate and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. A little closer to hand is the charming, and traditional fishing village of Padstow, which lies at the end of a breath-taking shoreline drive.
Transport
Trains: Hotel Victoria is a five-minute walk from Newquay rail station which offers train links to London.
Road: The hotel is about a 90-minute drive from Exeter. Coming from the M5 to Exeter, take the A30 towards Bodmin /Redruth and follow the signs for Newquay.
Groupon Top Tip
For a closer view of Cornwall's rugged coastline, sessions in coasteering are available which combine adrenalin-pumping cliff jumps, ocean swimming and physical challenges over rocks.
Reviews
TripAdvisors rated the Hotel Victoria a comfortable 3.5/5 stars. Guests shared their appreciation for the staff, the hotel’s convenient location, and the building’s interior.
Great location right in the town centre and amazing views of the sea. We both had massages which were very relaxing and then a lovely three course meal in the hotel's la rochelle restaurant, the lamb shank was amazing! Swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room were fab and we had them to ourselves!

The staff were brilliant and efficient, but most of all very friendly - this makes a hotel. The breakfast was lovely, fresh and hot, and with a gorgeous view over the ocean from the lounge. The rooms were first class - spotless, comfy beds with quality bedding. The period wooden furniture gave it that real petina of a bygone era, but yet maintaining a bit of modernism also.
