Springing up as a quaint mineral spa village in the 19th century, Woodhall Spa is renowned for its peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, spotted with top class golf courses, a cottage museum, and aviation heritage site associated with the Dambusters. Clean and crisp air envelopes visitors as they walk the wide roads and woodland footpaths of an inland resort awash with pastel paint and black beams representative of the area's history. The expanse of soft, spongy rock that once spurted splashes of iodine and bromine water is warmed today by a community unified by its colourful past.

Large and lustrous, The Legacy Woodhall Spa Hotel is the oldest hotel in the parish, based on The Broadway in Woodhall Spa’s conservation area, only 400 metres away from the award-winning National Golf Centre. The hotel's interior presents a warm welcome to visitors, filled with contemporary bedrooms, plasma TVs, Wi-Fi, and extravagant en suites. Customers are enticed in with cream tea and a glass of sparkling wine each in The Garden Bar, which has its own terrace overlooking the garden and a style that evokes memories of former etiquette thanks to plentiful Punch cartoons adorning the walls. Guests are later wined and dined, taking a three course meal with a bottle of house wine at The Lodge Restaurant, where meat comes from a local butcher's, fish comes fresh from Grimsby, and bread is baked at the hotel. Well-feasted, pairs can finally settle down in a twin or double room and dream of the provided breakfast in the morning.
To find out more about this fascinating Lincolnshire nook, head to the Cottage Museum to peruse local photographs and memorabilia that tell the tale of the village's development. The Kinema is something of a rarity: a 19th century pavilion-cum-picture house basking in the charm of the woods. It shows new films in olde-worlde surroundings and retains many original features such as an organ and old-fashioned coat hooks. The two top golf courses nearby provide green and pleasant lands for putting practice, while Jubilee Park is the place for other laid-back leisure activities such as croquet and bowls.
Groupon Top Tip
The village hosts a lively roster of events throughout the year, so check the website to see when fixtures such as country markets, flower shows, and classic car rallies take place.

Our room was very large with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom - we had no problems with the water temperature! We had the evening meal which was really excellent, breakfast was also good, a nicely cooked full English!
