The Hotel
An expansive holiday resort inspired by the solid pine of Scandinavian living, Lakeview Country Club is swathed in gently swaying trees and sits on the shore of its own fishing lakes. The swimming pool ripples beneath the vaulted beams of a barn, while the tennis courts, scenic jogging track, fully equipped fitness centre, and steam room are available for those who wish to work up a sweat. A nine hole golf course makes for good natured competitions, while a gentler, family-orientated diversion is provided by the pitch and putt course. The Terrace Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, serving an array of daily changing specials alongside a few timeless classics, all ready to be washed down by drinks from the on-site bar.
The Stay
You may wish to head straight out for a round of golf on the nine hole course or take a dip in the pool before settling in for the stay. Each of the Scandinavian A frame lodges houses six people and has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a private balcony and a fully equipped kitchen. A Jacuzzi bath could be just the thing to ease the aches from a long drive, while the distractions in the living area come in the form of large sofas and a TV, DVD, and CD player.

Head north to the coastal rock towers of the Bedruthan Steps, a haven for seabirds and ideal for a blustery clifftop stroll, or dive further into Newquay and book a few surf lessons to master the waves. The collections of Tate St Ives and The Barbara Hepworth Gallery could fill an afternoon, while the tessellated domes of the Eden Project are a short drive away. One of the most popular ways to explore the Cornish countryside is rambling out with a good map and a pair of binoculars, or visitors could return to the resort and while away the hours on the tennis courts or by the fishing lakes.
Transport
Trains: Bodmin Parkway is 8 miles from the hotel, with connections to Plymouth and the rest of the UK.
Roads: The hotel is just off the A30, which has connections towards Plymouth and Exeter for the M5, or continues out towards St Ives and Penzance.
