The Hotel
An equine nirvana in the lush milieu of Hisaronu Koyu, Marmaris Country Club Hotel keeps guests and resident horses in holidaying harmony. With two large paddocks containing ponies of over ten different breeds, and a tropical outdoor pool, the hotel offers visitors an abundance of activities. The vigorous centre also plays host to a climbing wall and billiards hall for all manner of leisurely undertakings.
The Stay
Bedding down in one of the hotel's wooden chalet style cottages, guests can sup on welcome cocktails and acquaint themselves with new surroundings. You will wake up to the fresh spoils of breakfast, later filling up at the open buffet included in half board stays. After taking advantage of the ample equestrian opportunities with a casual trot across the plain, enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine over dinner. Activities don't end with the horses, and you can engage in a climbing session, or for £7 supplement each, take a boating trip or sink into a relaxing Turkish bath.

Less than half an hour from the hotel, the small but character-full Marmaris Castle was a 16th century focal point for battle, but now simply shows off with historic exhibits. Further across the water is Cleopatra Island; named for the story that the famous Queen used the island as a lovers' rendezvous, the island is more confidently known for its unusual sand. The tiny empty seashells that formed over millions of years are said to feel like clouds underfoot and provide an apt sensation for times spent on this secluded paradise. Such tranquil days can be thoroughly rounded off with hedonistic nights, catered for, largely, by Marmaris Bar Street, which pretty much does what it says on the tin.
