Between Chaweng and Bophut lies the Tesco Lotus, complete with a multi-screen cinema, a bowling alley, and a supermarket. Chaweng is famous for beautiful beaches, but also has a main street lined with bars and restaurants. On the west side of the island, the administrative capital Nathon has abundant low-cost shopping options and a clutch of traditional Thai restaurants. The nearest British embassy is in Bangkok.

Firstly, the hotel grounds are huge. We were in the Royal Wing, and had a ground floor room overlooking the pool, which was amazing. Stepping off our patio area, to our own sunbeds, next to the clear blue beautiful pool, it was so perfect. Extremely quiet around us aswell, so were barely bothered by anyone around at all.
