A sparkling conclusion to three years of extensive restoration, this old century coaching inn has been transformed after decades of neglect into a boutique hotel. The Posada del Dragón’s interior designer has fused images of the city’s origins with funky wall features, and unconventional room layouts mean some minimalist rooms have handy walk-through bathrooms. La Antoñita restaurant, meaning ‘fresh market’, prepares food which is exactly that, and is a gathering place for local Madrileños. It is a beautifully decorated hotel, with a lot of history around its walls, very clean and taken care of. It was a great experience, in a fantastic area and very helpful staff. The food from the bar is really good as well. On top of that, it is very close to La Plaza Mayor and the main attractions in Madrid.
