The Hotel
Once a warm abode for the 2006 Winter Olympians, this timber-clad hotel backs onto the games’ ski jumping site, with spectacular valley views out front. Now a pastel palette of simplicity and stunning scenery, its boasts 33 bits and bobs of accommodation including double or quad rooms. Lined with vast corridors of stone slated floors and skylight ceilings, the lounge is spotted with little red sofas for moments of inspired slouching. There is also has a locker room for storing snowy equipment, and a bar and restaurant for essential post-piste relaxation.
The Stay
Hanging up their sallopettes, duos or quads can rest skied-knees in their twin or double bed rooms, complete with a private bathroom and TV. Rising to a buffet breakfast each morning, and returning to a dinner in the restaurant each evening, skiers can also pick up their boots, poles, and chosen planks with ski hire throughout their stay, plus discounts on ski lessons and drinks at the hotel. Groups of four can also scale the Milky Way ski domain with a heli-ski ride, while a guide will give the equipment and paths to descend through powder unreachable from the lifts.
The Slopes
Served by 8 ski lifts, including the high speed 80 person cable car that rises to 2200m, Pragelato glides across 440km of pistes, with an artificial snow network so slopes can stay cool in warmer months. With many a tree-run and the usual off-piste flurries to be enjoyed, the resort is also decked out with it’s famed Olympian Ski Jump, as well as downhill skiing, cross-country, and ski touring routes.
