The Hotel
A quaint 16th century farmhouse flanked by colourful blooms and an open brick courtyard, Random Hall Hotel keeps guests in traditional fashion. The listed building is trimmed with exposed beams and stoneflag floors, while its Flagstones restaurant serves classic British fare. Visitors can keep their grip on the world's grid by making use of the internet room, and will also find a slew of expansive golf courses within a 10 minute drive.
The Stay
Staying in double or twin rooms, country retreaters will encounter plentiful facilities, including TV, Wi-Fi and a hospitality tray. A two course evening meal can be savoured in the restaurant, as starters or puddings are chosen to accompany a main course each; meanwhile, swinging shoulders can prepare for 18 holes of golf. Nine iron handling will be preceded by the morning's continental breakfast spread, with the option to upgrade to a full English breakfast available for bunker-dodgers.
Groupon Recommends
Countryside walks abound in this rural tapestry and are aptly represented by the eight mile path that runs from Slinfold village church via a well-deserved pub lunch. Guests can also go in for a spot of light education with a drive to the Amberley Working Museum, which documents the industrial history of the South East with open air exhibits. For a slightly more urban outing, a trip into the nearby town of Horsham will bring visitors to an historic centre, boasting shops, pretty architecture and blooming parks.
Transport
Trains: Trains arrive at Horsham Railway Station from stations including London Bridge, London Victoria, Birmingham New Street and Manchester Piccadilly.
Road: Take any major motorway to the south of the M25, then follow the A24 to Horsham.
Groupon Top Tip
Traverse the historic Downs Link footpath by bike for a relatively easy ride through the West Sussex countryside.
Reviews
90% of LateRoomers would visit Random Hall again and TripAdvisors rate their visit a lush 4/5. Guests said they were greeted with a warm reception, were served delightful meals and that the hotel is rich in character.
Some parts are very old and it is full of little quirks and old beams and fireplaces. The staff could not have been more attentive and welcoming and after a very hectic week, it was such a lovely place to unwind sunk into a sofa in front of the log fire and then eat a really beautiful meal in the restaurant.
– MMoorcroft, TripAdvisor, Feb 2012
This is a lovely, very old hotel. Staff were welcoming and the accommodation was just what we wanted - the room was big, comfortable and clean with windows overlooking the courtyard and duck pond. Excellent food.
