In twin or double room with a three course meal, afternoon tea, breakfast and wine
Matching the Gothic splendor of its turreted heights with suitably regal facilities, this rural retreat is as comfortable as it is elegantly atmospheric. Hollin Hall adorns its interiors with marbled columns and original fittings, establishing a refined air that carries through to the traditional cuisine of the Ridge Restaurant, where local produce is used whenever possible. The landscaped surrounds of the hotel garden create a refreshingly relaxed air.
Get a breath of fresh air with a hike along the footpaths and hill walks of the Peak District National Park, or perhaps have a sporting shot at the archery, angling, and golfing opportunities available in the local area. Continue at a leisurely pace in the charming village of Prestbury, the sleepy streets of which abound with independent shops, cafes, and numerous listed buildings. Alternatively, follow other cultural threads at the Macclesfield Heritage Centre, where a Silk Museum offers practical and engaging insights into the town’s history as one of the world’s largest textiles manufacturers.
- Individually decorated twin or double room with en suite, flat screen TV, Wi-Fi and refreshments
- Afternoon tea of scones, cream and preserves with a glass of sparkling wine each
- Three course set menu dinner with a bottle of wine to share
- Fresh breakfast served each morning
Train: Macclesfield station is under four miles away and services run regularly to several major cities including Manchester, Birmingham and London, with scenic routes on the Mid Cheshire railway.
Road: The A523 runs through Macclesfield, taking you towards the hotel from the north and south.
TripAdvisors rate Hollin Hall an admirable 3.5/5 stars. Although some guests found the decor old fashioned, reviewers appreciated the quality of food, calming atmosphere and friendly staff.
A weekend break, excellent meal and afternoon tea were all very well delivered by the Hollin Hall staff. Whilst the rooms are a little dated in the rear annex block, they are clean and well prepared. The resteraunt [sic] is second to none and we enjoyed an excellent meal with good wine. The sitting room and bar are lovely and provided the perfect setting for afternoon tea and a night cap. Will certainly be back!
