Take the five-minute stroll to Bang Tao beach and tread a few hot footprints into the stretch of white sand. Take a day and go and explore the Tham Phung Chang, a cave housing replicas of Buddha and impressive stalactites and stalagmites. Make the trip in the early morning to catch the sun’s rays moving through the mist of the Lampi Waterfall at sunrise, where rare birds also play hide-and-seek amid thick jungle. Put a day aside to marvel at the dramatic stilt-like rocks of Phang Nga bay. Reachable in just over an hour's drive with onward travel by speed boat, these iconic islets jut out of the sea, the most famous being Khao Phing Kan, nicknamed James Bond Island after featuring in the 1974 spy movie.
